PURO CHIANTI DOCG: ORGANIC WINE FREE FROM ADDED SULPHITES
Fattoria Lavacchio just launched a new wine from the Chianti Rufina area: organic Chianti with no added sulphites. The wine’s name, Puro Chianti DOCG refers to the ‘pure’ character of a product without any use of chemicals.
Fattoria Lavacchio is a real and fully organic farm producing besides wine also oil, cereals and vegetables that are used in the restaurant forming part of the agritourism facility. The owner’s family, the Lottero, produced a monovarietal sangiovese wine with a young, fresh, pure, enjoyable and easy drinking quality wine showing the peculiar character of its cradle, the Rufina area with the wonderful Tuscan hills overlooking Florence. According to Faye Lottero, managing director of Fattoria Lavacchio, it was “a real challenge to make a wine without any addition of sulphites; Puro is pure because it was made using totally chemical-free wine making techniques”.
Fattoria Lavacchio will be presenting its Chianti wine at Vinexpo, together with a group of outstanding French organic wine producers, with which it formed the Unione Interprofessionale dell’agrobiologia (Interprofessional Association of Agrobiology), founded in June 2012.
Puro Chianti Rufina DOCG and the winery’s other wines (including Cedro Chianti Rufina, Cedro Chianti Rufina Riserva and Vin Santo) will be showcased at the prestigious fair in Bordeaux in HALL 2 Stand PQ-31.
Vinexpo will also offer the opportunity to celebrate the first anniversary of the association in an evening event in the beautiful setting of Château des Seigneurs des Pommyers, not far from the fair.
Monday, June 17, starting at 20.30, a buffet comprising the products of the surrounding terroir, will be superbly paired with the most important wines of the association’s participating companies. There will also be a very rich wine tasting table at the event.
