I am proud to share with you this great news from one of my favourite wineries from Austria and even from Europe and may the whole world, NIKOLAIHOF… From Mautern in the Wachau Valley, Christine Saahs announces:

“A special highlight on this year’s wine list is the 1995 Nikolaihof Vinothek Riesling trocken. This wine is the follower of the 1993 Nikolaihof Vinothek Grüner Veltliner. It was bottled after 17 years of ageing in big Austrian oak casks. It will be presented the first time at VieVinum on June 2nd in Vienna.

The intensive and unique “terroir” is especially emphasized by the use of the grapes’ natural yeast and the storage in wooden barrels. The result is light wines that are still very suitable to be stored for further maturing.
Even the light Federspiel wines do not lose their freshness in a bottle that is open for one week. It is also important to know that the dry Nikolaihof wines are free of histamines and can therefore also be enjoyed by allergic persons.
To provide for good food accompanying the wines we recommend Austria’s awarded best cookbook “Ich koche für mein Leben gern“, so far only published in German. This book also took third place in the category health and nutrition at the World Awards in Paris. The book is available in various online shops for € 39,90. ISBN 978-3-85033-366-5″
