COENECOOP SIGNS FOR A GREEN SPRING (3)

Posted by Christian Callec on dinsdag, april 10th, 2012

On April 2nd, the Dutch importer COENECOOP (part of DELTA WINES) was holding a special wine tasting inside the huge Delta Wines offices, storage and distribution building. Leitmotiv of this tasting was: “Naturally more… Spring”. Most of the presented wines were… ‘green’ wines, from ‘environment respectful’ to organic (bio) and biodynamic.

COMMENTS IN A NUTSHELL

Portuguese pink sensation: I didn’t really need to taste it, I just had to. I really love the wines, the philosophy, the story, the maker of CASA DE MOURAZ (see earlier article HERE) and they did it again…  Great fresh, fruity, juicy, mineral AIR VINHO VERDE 2010 (€ 8.95); tight, serious, earthy, mineral, complex and gastronomic AIR DÃO BRANCO 2010 (€ 8.50); old fashioned tasty, spicy, with ripe fruit and a nice tannic backbone AIR ALENTEJO TINTO 2008 … a gastronomic wine with balls and a warm heart (€ 8.50); a fabulous, fresh, spicy, fruity and mineral AIR DÃO TINTO 2007 … still young and dynamic, a fantastic wine for red meat stews with aromatic herbs (€ 9.90).

Last but surely not least, my favourite of the day, the astonishing AIR DÃO ROSÉ 2010If you really look for something different, a fresh, fruity and mineral rosé with enough tannic backbone to match all kind of meat dishes but also round enough to please everyone, full but not too heavy… That’s the one you should try! (€ 8.50)

Price indication*: advised consumer retail price in a Dutch wine shop, mostly slightly higher than the real shop price, surely when you buy it during special actions and by 6 or 12 bottles.
