* Please read all the previous and next articles about VULCANIA SOAVE 2012, about the SOAVE and the COLLI EUGANEI regions *

A selection of pictures I took during this fantastic press-trip, but couldn’t place in my articles because of a severe software + hardware PC crash. Just to give you a ‘personal’ impression:

Colli Euganei - terroir influence profilesWho doesn’t believe in ‘terroir’ influence should follow the conferences of Attilio Scienza (professor of Viticulture at the University of Milan). Each type of soil in the Colli Euganei (marine sediments, volcanic soils, alluvial sediments) gives a very specific taste profile with the same grape variety!

Colli Euganei - terroir influenceDifferent terroir, same grape variety, different taste characteristics

Colli Euganei - very nice Serprino secco

A nice surprise for me, the very nice whites like this Serprino

Colli Euganei - very tasty Fior d'Arancio Secco

Another big surprise… Fior d’Arancio secco from yellow muscat

Colli Euganei - lovely rosso

Lovely gastronomic red Colli Euganei

Colli Euganei - biodiversity

Eugean hills, fantastic range of colourful grasshoppers

Colli Euganei - biodiversity 2

A great example of controlled biodiversity

Colli Euganei - highly recommended restaurant

A highly recommended restaurant in Colli Euganei, VAL POMARO
