VIÑA MONTES HAS LOST ONE OF ITS ANGELS
The Chilean wine industry is mourning. Douglas Murray, one of the founders of the prestigious VIÑA MONTES, just passed away last Wednesday after a long struggle against cancer. Douglas Murray was born in Antofagasta in 1942. After his degree in Trade and Economy at the University of Valdosta (USA), he founded Viña Montes together with the talented oenologist Aurelio Montes Sr. and two other members. He was director and export manager for Viña Montes. Douglas Murray has been working more than 35 years in the Chilean wine business. He was the very first director of Wines of Chile in the UK.
