AMSTERDAM, WINE CAPITAL FOR 2 DAYS: WORLD BULK WINE EXHIBITION 2014
The 6th edition of the World Bulk Wine Exhibition (WBWE) was a tremendous success. More than 250 producers from 19 countries from the Northern and Southern hemisphere and almost 6.000 professional visitors from 59 different nationalities… an increase of 30% compared to the previous edition of the biggest worldwide trade fair for bulk wines (bulk, vrac, in grosso, vino de granel…), in accordance with the increase of the exhibition space, up to 6.000 m2 this year. It is the huge amount of wine transacted and the turnover generated at the fair that make the WBWE the largest wine trade fair in the world.
It was for me the first time that I visited this fair and it was quite educative. The WBWE offers not only thousands of samples to taste, great opportunities for trade, but also loads of information about trends in technology, wine making, closures, shipments, marketing etc.
Like all serious fairs, the most appreciated part was the free-self-pour Silent Tasting Room (picture below), very well visited.
Add to that the Bulk Wine Competition, the different conferences, the meeting rooms, the cooking showroom, the charming hostesses (picture below) and of course the good ambiance, you will understand why this fair is getting more and more successful every year since its creation 6 years ago by a group of some Spanish organizations.

More to come soon… stay tuned!
